Project Closing Conference
On 26th of February 2024, the Municipality of Tulcea organized the Closing Conference of the „Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation Plan in the Municipality of Tulcea” project. That was financed by European funds in partnership with the National Institute for Research and Development in Environmental Protection - Bucharest (INCDPM), specialized in fundamental/applied research activities and technological development in the field of engineering and environmental protection.
The related plans elaboration of the above mentioned project required the fulfillment of specific objectives, namely:
· inventory of greenhouse gas emissions;
· analysis of the current and forecasted climate;
· analysis of risks and vulnerabilities;
· identification and description actions to complete the climate change mitigation and adaptation plan.
The project targets all parts of society and economic sectors - from the power sector to industry, transport, buildings and agriculture.
The project results are related to national and European climate change policies and will be integrated into the Local Climate Change Adaptation Strategy, providing support for the fulfilment of the commitments undertaken by the municipality, in line with the long-term vision of becoming a city with low energy consumption by 2030 and, in at the same time, a high level of quality of life.
