NATIONAL PREMIERE regarding the measurement and monitoring of environmental quality parameters BY THE HELP OF DRONES IN BUCHAREST
This summer, the National Research and Development Institute for Environmental Protection from Bucharest, in partnership with ENERGY & ECO CONCEPT (ENEC), carried out measurements regarding the quality of the environment in Bucharest, near the intersection of Iuliu Maniu Blvd. and Valea Cascadelor, in Union Square (Piața Unirii) and at the Triumphal Arch (Arcul de Triumf), by means of drones, representing a national premiere.
This approach was carried out within the framework of a contract for the Elaboration of an air quality study and technical assistance for realizing the Integrated Air Quality Plan in the Municipality of Bucharest, with the Capital City Hall as the beneficiary.
Measurements are made at heights of up to 100 m. The results of the study will give information on the air pollution spreading at various altitudes. The study is of maximum importance for Bucharest, because following up the results obtained, there can be taken intervention measures in the years to come regarding the fight against the pollution phenomenon.
In addition to the measurements made by drone, the INCDPM work team in partnership with ENERGY & ECO CONCEPT performs measurements and monitoring on the ground with the auto laboratory (test van). This is how the variation of air pollution is determined in Bucharest.
